ABOUT SUMMIT

From October 2 to 4, 2013, 2nd Sustainable Energy Finance and Investment Summit - Croenergy2013 was held at the Hotel Well in Tuheljske Toplice  organized by the North-west Croatia Regional Energy Agency  - REGEA.

The conference was supported by the by the European Federation of Agencies and Regions for Energy and Environment  - FEDARENE  and the ManagEnergy program of the European Commission. The event was organized under the auspices of the President of the Republic of Croatia Dr Ivo Josipović, and brought together some of the leading energy and Financial experts and participants approached different innovative financing models of energy projects.


The Conference was officially opened by the President of the Republic of Croatia Dr Ivo Josipović, with the participation of leading European and domestic financial institutions such as the European Investment Bank, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, Croatian Bank for Reconstruction and Development - HBOR, Croatian Agency for SMEs, Innovation and Investments -HAMAG, the Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency Fund - FZOEU, representatives of the Ministry of Economy, Entrepreneurship and Crafts, Ministry of Regional Development and EU Funds, Ministry of Entrepreneurship and Trades, Mayors and Prefects of Cites and Municipalities of North-west Croatia as well as numerous media representatives.


The main topics of the conference were the ESCO and EPC financing models that play an increasingly important role in the development of the energy services market in Europe. Apart from the issue of financing energy projects, the conference also focused on the preparation of projects for financing, linking and co-operating between the business and the public sector, the work of energy clusters, the use of credit lines and specialized funds to finance renewable energy and energy efficiency projects.
